Love’s Travel Stops to open 20 new stores in 2025

OKLAHOMA CITY — Love’s Travel Stop and Country Stores plans to expand its footprint across the country in 2025, with 20 new locations, according to a company spokesperson.

The company currently operates around 640 locations in 42 states. New locations will be opening in Arizona, Illinois, Ohio and Louisiana. Specific locations have not yet been announced, as the company typically announces the new locations as they open.

Love’s currently operates 34 locations across Illinois. Another 50 locations will be remodeled as part of their “Strategic Remodeling Initiative,” which is ongoing through 2035. This effort aims to modernize their truck stops through upgraded technology in their retail stores and restaurants. As part of this effort, there will be expanded quick-service food offerings with food such as tacos, salads, and a variety of juice options in their convenience stores.

Mobile ordering will be added at 100 Arby’s locations in various truck stops across the country to reduce service times at their restaurants. According to a company statement, restaurants that they own or lease reduced total service times by an average of 14 seconds in 2024.

The company will also expand semi-trailer parking spaces, adding 1,000 extra spaces. This will bring the total number of semi-truck parking spaces to a combined 50,000 across all locations across the country. 12 maintenance bays for semi trucks will be added as well as six new company-owned emergency vehicles in an attempt to support truck drivers. Love’s will also add RV hookups at 17 new locations, surpassing 100 locations with RV hookups.

In addition to expanded parking spaces, the company will be investing money in electric vehicle charging infrastructure across 13 states, including at locations in Illinois. The company was awarded an $83 million grant from the federal government in 2024 for electric vehicle infrastructure.
