Hippocratic AI hires seven new executives and more digital health hires

Hippocratic AI, a generative AI company developing safety-focused large language models for healthcare, announced the appointment of seven new executives following the closing of its $141 million Series B round of funding in January.
Hippocratic AI’s generative AI solution focuses on nondiagnostic healthcare tasks such as medication onboarding and monthly reconciliation, hospital and payor policy questions, and EHR assistance.
The company also offers its Healthcare AI Agent App Store, which allows clinicians to collaborate with Hippocratic AI to develop AI agents to address specific patient conditions and improve workflow efficiency.
The healthcare executives joining the company’s team are:
- Dr. Chris Fang, chief commercial officer for pharma, life sciences and international markets. Dr. Fang formerly held leadership and executive roles at digital care management company Sidekick Health, Eli Lilly, IQVIA, Acer and Johnson & Johnson.
- Hollie Vugrinovich, chief growth officer for providers. Vugrinovich previously worked at AI-powered automation company Notable.
- Jonathan Gainor, chief commercial officer for payors. Gainor held executive roles at Lyra Health and United Health Group and worked for healthcare data science company Garner Health.
- W.B. “Mitch” Mitchell, chief growth officer for the government sector. Mitchell joins Hippocratic AI from digital hybrid care platform Amwell.
- Brij Aswani, vice president of sales for ambulatory care. Aswani held roles at revenue optimization company MD Clarity as well as ModMed, Pavilion and Thomson Reuters.
- Chitra Laxmanan, vice president and general manager for payors. Laxmanan formerly worked at Blue Shield of California, where she led its product strategy and management organization. She also held strategy leadership roles at CVS Health.
- Eric Seastedt, vice president for international emerging markets. Seastedt formerly served as regional director for Asia at Population Services International.
New Jersey-based Culina Health, a digital platform offering clinical nutrition care, has appointed Jane Mentz as chief operating officer.
Mentz joins Culina as its first C-suite hire since its inception. She will report to the company’s cofounder and CEO, Vanessa Rissetto.
Mentz formerly worked for mental healthcare company Quartet and held leadership roles at metabolic health company Calibrate. She began her career in healthcare consulting at The Advisory Board Company.
Culina Health allows individuals to connect online with registered dietitians, who provide coaching and tailor a care plan around a person’s weight loss needs. The dietitian can also coordinate with a patient’s healthcare team and specialist.
In December, the company secured $7.9 million in Series A funding.
