Can’t Afford to Fly to Rome? Build the Trevi Fountain at Home
Whether you’re looking for a new addition to your Lego Architecture collection or you’re a lover of all things Rome, you’re in luck: The newly announcedLego Architecture Trevi Fountain (21062) is sure to brighten up your desk or shelf.
Coming in at 1,880 pieces, this replica of the 18-century Rome landmark measures over 15 inches (38 cm) wide and 10 inches (25 cm) tall. The facade of the main building is finely-detailed, with light pink accents adding a nice touch of warmth.
The new minifigure statues are expressive (even without faces), and the horse-headed hippocampi sculptures look especially dynamic. And the water has a feeling of real depth, thanks to multiple layers of transparent bricks.
It’s not the first time Lego has produced a model of the Trevi Fountain; a version in 2014 featured less than half the pieces of the new set. The new one is bigger and bolder by far.
Lego Architecture Trevi Fountain retails for $160 and is available for pre-order today; it starts shipping on March 1. Can’t wait till then? Check out some of our other favorite Lego sets, or watch the teaser for the upcoming Lego Game Boy.
