ARC Awards Sandy Springs $8.1 Million Boost

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) has informed Sandy Springs it has approved more than $8.1 million in federal funding for the city’s Path 400 and Roswell Road North End Boulevard and side path projects.
The ARC approved $4 million for the PATH 400 segment from Loridans to Johnson Ferry, Mayor Rusty Paul told Rough Draft Atlanta via email on April 7. Another $3.9 million will go toward the North End Roswell Road Boulevard Project, with $216,000 allocated for the North End project’s side path from Dunwoody Place to Summer Crossing.
“These are big wins for the city and help move these key projects forward,” Paul said. “The local match for PATH 400 is $1 million, $900,00 for the Roswell Road project and $54,000 for the side path, which are already funded.”
Paul said the PATH 400 project fills a major gap in the trail network to connect Sandy Springs to Atlanta’s Beltline.
The Roswell Road and side path projects add to city investments in the north end of Sandy Springs that include the Sandy Springs Police/Municipal Court Complex opening this week on Morgan Falls Road, the new police fleet center on Roswell Road and the soon-to-open Springway Trail along the Chattahoochee River and Orkin Lake.
In December 2024, the Sandy Springs City Council added $1 million to the PATH 400 Trail project and $1.2 million for the Roswell Road North End Boulevard project after receiving earlier funding from the ARC.
The council approved a $20.1 million contract in May 2024 to construct 1.8 miles of the PATH 400 trail in the city. F.S. Scarbrough of Fayetteville was awarded the contract with a bid that was $4.2 million less than the next closest bidder.
