Have a Beautiful Weekend. | Cup of Jo

What are you up to this weekend? I’m looking forward to spending time with my sister Lucy and remembering her late husband Paul; this Sunday is the 10th anniversary of his death, and we all miss him. Hope you have a good one, and here are a few links from around the web…
Ruth Reichl’s out-of-control diva of a grilled cheese sandwich.
How do you know if it’s time to get divorced? I struggled with this question so much in my own marriage; this week we put together the kind of post I would have loved to read during that disorienting time. Here, 11 women share how they decided to end their marriages. (Big Salad)

Love this pretty sweater to wear all year round.
“I took my work outside every day for a month this winter… Even though I’m not perfectly warm, it lifts my mood to be outside. I can hear the community of songbirds holding their morning conferences, a barking dog…”

Should we all become friends with Aimee Lou Wood? She’s seems so fun and funny. When the cast would hang out during breaks, she “became known among her castmates as ‘the fox’ who would ‘come out for some scraps and then go back inside’… when Patrick Schwarzenegger — who plays the pervy, arrogant Saxon Ratliff — would beg her to hang out. ‘I’d be like, “I need to go into my cave,”‘ Wood says, laughing. ‘What have you been doing in there?’ he’d ask. She would retort, sardonically, ‘Just having loads of realizations and epiphanies about myself, life, and the world, and stewing in them.’” (The Cut)

Ali Milne asked people what random things they do “to feel more whimsical.” A few fun replies: “I say ‘my lady’ whenever I walk past a mirror,” “listening to French music while I grocery shop makes it feel more romantic and less mundane,” and “I tell my dishes it’s bath time.” Adds Pandora Sykes, “To offset how much I hate mornings, I do a half cartwheel out of the bed and finish like I’m in the Olympics.”
A practical guide to breaking up with Amazon.
“It is in your self-interest to find a way to be very tender.”
Plus, two reader comments:
Says Rebecca on four fun things: “When I was eight, I convinced my dad that the perfect birthday gift for my mother would be… a framed photo of myself from GLAMOUR SHOTS. I still can’t believe he let me do this. Was my mom delighted? No. Of course I have hung onto the photo through every move. Nowadays, when guests come over and use the powder room, they get treated to this bizarre photo of childhood me in full glam, with feathered hair, in a white collared shirt under a black sequined vest, with a mysterious smile. It hangs right over the toilet.”
Says Hali on Etsy finds: “This post is giving The Internet circa 2013 and there is no nostalgia quite as charming!”
