In her first-ever White House press briefing, Karoline Leavitt Tuesday said President Donald Trump has sent a message regarding the New Jersey drone mystery that they were not enemy, but were authorized flights for research and other reasons. There were also private individuals flying drones, Leavitt said. Donald Trump earlier promised that on his first day, he would report on the drones.
“I’m going to give you a report on drones about one day into the administration,” Trump told a room of Republican governors earlier this month at his Mar-a-Lago resort on Jan. 10. “Because I think it’s ridiculous that they’re not telling you about what’s going on with the drones.”
“I hope it’s not an enemy, but we’re going to find out on the 21st, the day after,” Trump said. “You have to give me a little time for the inauguration, but shortly there after, we’ll give you a report on it. We’ll tell you exactly what it is. They know, and it’s very strange that they are not talking about it.”
As many drones were seen hovering over New Jersey in November, Trump said it was not possible that the government did not know what those mystery drones were. The Pentagon had said that the aircraft were not US. military drones, and officials have rebuked claims that the drones spotted are a part of a nefarious plot by foreign agents. Trump had insisted the government knew more than they were saying.
At her first press meet, Leavitt announced all the works President Trump had done in his first week and then unveiled New Media seats at the White House press briefing room which will have seats for independent journalists and content creators and influencers.
