GDOT to begin North Druid Hills bridge construction

Drivers can expect delays at North Druid Hills Road starting in the evening of Thursday, Jan. 16 through Saturday, Jan. 18, according to an announcement by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).
Weather permitting, GDOT contractors will begin construction on the median at North Druid Hills Road, requiring nighttime closures on Jan. 16-17 between West Druid Hills Drive and Buford Highway.
A temporary traffic shift should open in this area by 11 a.m. on Jan. 18, a press release stated.
GDOT has been working in the area to build three bridges — one pedestrian and two vehicular bridges — to help ease the volume of traffic on North Druid Hills Road at I-85 due to the growth of medical facilities in the area.
Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Real-time information can be found by dialing 511, visiting 511ga.org, or on the Georgia 511 app.
