Elizavecca Collagen Jella Pack Is the Weirdest Korean Mask I Ever Tried!

The K-Beauty world is full of surprises, but nothing quite prepared me for the Elizavecca Collagen Jella Pack. This isn’t your average Korean face mask; it’s a thick, jelly-like substance that adheres to your face in the most unexpected ways. Intrigued? So was I. Read on for my honest review of this unusual and, dare I say, strangely addictive skincare experience.

About Elizavecca Green Piggy Collagen Jella Pack

Collagen Jella Pack* is part of the Green Piggy skincare line, developed by the Simple Deluxe for our favorite K-beauty brand Elizavecca. This product has achieved immense popularity, with sales exceeding 1 million units – can you imagine? This remarkable success is undoubtedly due to its most unusual and distinctive feature: a thick, gelatin-like texture consisting of 50% collagen. Some people claim it looks and feels like a slime! Well, you can consider it a fun and beneficial product for your skincare routine.

Hydrolyzed collagen content of 10,000 ppm a powerful collagen-coated curtain on the skin!

Packaging:

The packaging is classic – a typical plastic container with a small white spatula for hygienic application. It looks like most face masks and creams by Elizavecca products. The cardboard packaging features our beloved piggy mascot wearing a green scarf.

Texture and Scent:

When it comes to this mask, it’s all about the texture! It is thick, smooth, and reminiscent of fruit jelly or the famous Italian flan – a dessert with cream and caramel. The color is pale-rosy or nudish, depending on the light. It feels surprisingly soothing and comforting on the skin, especially when kept cool.

Another interesting aspect of the texture is its ability to revert to its original ‘untouched’ state. After scooping, mixing, and shaking the contents of the jar, the jelly-like texture returns to its initial form. This same phenomenon occurs with the Hyaluronic Acid Memory Cream and Peptide Bubble Cream. Isn’t it fascinating? That is why Korean skincare is so much fun!

Now to the controversial scent. There were a few Amazon reviews, stating that Jella Pack has a bad scent. Some simply said that the scent isn’t good, but tolerable, while others claimed that it smelled bad. As for me, I found a collagen face mask by Elizavecca pleasant in scent. It has a slightly gelatinous aroma, which isn’t bad, just not usual for skincare products. The stickiness is also present, and I’m not a fan of the sticky feeling on my skin, and who is? Thankfully, after rinsing and moisturizing, it disappears.

Ingredients:

You’ll find here familiar humectants like glycerin and Sodium Hyaluronate (a form of hyaluronic acid), and also some unique skincare ingredients like allantoin – a soothing component that calms irritated skin and can help to accelerate the healing process.

Additionally, the formula is reinforced with Macadamia Oil, which is packed with antioxidants and essential fatty acids, and Cocoa Seed Extract that protects skin from environmental damage. Both oils also have moisturizing properties that leave skin feeling soft and smooth.

And now for more original ingredients, which I’ve never seen in a skincare product. I’m talking about Bacillus/Soybean Ferment Extract. This unique ingredient is a prebiotic that helps to balance the skin’s microbiome. A healthy microbiome is essential for a glowing complexion.

  • Hydrolyzed Collagen in Skincare

The primary ingredient in the mask is Hydrolyzed collagen, a form of collagen broken down into smaller peptides, which is a popular ingredient in skincare due to its potential to improve skin hydration and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. When applied topically, these smaller peptides can penetrate the skin more effectively than larger collagen molecules.

While research on the direct benefits of topical collagen is ongoing, some studies suggest that it may help stimulate the production of collagen and elastin within the skin, leading to increased firmness and a more youthful appearance.

How to Use Elizavecca Collagen Mask?

This is an interesting question. So, on the official Elizabecca website, Jella Pack is under the skin masks category, while the Amazon store describes it in the title as cream. I use it as an overnight facial or with my DIY under-eye mask. Alternatively, I apply a cooled layer of the mask during the day, when I feel like it. After the night, or 15-20 minutes I rinse it off, and follow it with a moisturizer. A pea amount of the product is enough to cover the whole face, and another little – pea for the neck.

My Experience Jella Pack:

Collagen Jella Pack is by far the thickest Korean mask I’ve ever tried! Of course, I don’t mean this in any bad way – I simply have never seen such a rich-in-consistency face product. So, the application process is pleasant and fun! Once applied to the skin, Jella Pack creates a smooth, jelly-like coat on the face and works its magic. I like to keep the mask in the refrigerator, so the cooling, soothing effect is even more pronounced.

After rinsing, the skin feels so silky and plump, I really love the effect. If you have any fine lines or dryness, you can also count on them diminishing, as the mask quickly addresses those concerns. I wouldn’t recommend applying the mask on irritated or inflamed skin. If you have acne flare-ups or a compromised skin barrier, it is also best to wait for your skin to heal. Collagen is an active ingredient in skincare, and therefore it can further irritate the skin, causing itching and burning sensation.

Final Verdict…

This is officially the weirdest K-beauty mask I tried on my skin, both texture and color-wise! And it absolutely delivers on its promises. Of course, you can’t expect that a single topical application of collagen, even in a potent form, will miraculously resolve all your skin concerns. However, collagen creams, serums, and masks can be a valuable addition to a skincare routine.

If for you winter equals dry skin, then you’ll love, love, love this mask! The skin feels so smooth and baby-soft after the mask. And if you keep it in the freezer, you can soothe and cool down your skin in the summer.
