7 Design Trends The Pros Are Loving for 2025

My ideal December reset day includes dreaming up home projects for the new year. All of this scheming goes hand in hand with design trend predictions, naturally. As someone who writes about interiors, I love chatting with designers during this time of year to get their take on what’s to come. According to them, we’re moving full steam ahead toward comfort, wellness, and personalized spaces at home, and I for one, am here for it.

Ahead, see what 2025 design trends the pros are predicting will be big in the year ahead. From elevated textures, creamy neutrals, and bold color palettes, there’s truly something for everyone in 2025.

Warm Minimalism

Since brown has been having a moment all year, it came as no surprise when Pantone announced 2025’s color of the year, Mocha Mousse. Creamy neutrals like Mocha Mousse create inviting, beautiful, luxe spaces and Stephanie Wiott of Stephanie Wiott Designs is predicting warm color palettes paired with minimalism will be everywhere next year. “Minimalism in 2025 isn’t about stripping everything down to the bare essentials. It’s about embracing simplicity with warmth and texture,” she shares. “We’re leaning into creamy beiges, terracotta accents, and organic materials like raw wood and stone.”

Does this trend sound vaguely familiar? Camille has embraced warm minimalism for years. Her home embodies warmth and coziness, and her spaces ooze comfort without chaos. Consider decluttering your space and adding natural materials and textures to your home in 2025 if warm minimalism sounds alluring.

Wellness Spaces

An at-home spa? Yes, please! Many 2025 design trends are focused on self-care and well-being—think saunas, cold plunge rooms, and steam showers. “Everyone is looking for spa-like indulgences in the comfort of their home,” Nicole Hirsch of Nicole Hirsch Interiors states. “People are seeking to carve out spaces in their basements to create these little retreats.”

Ever since the pandemic, the desire to stay home hasn’t wavered. The goal has become to stay put and create luxurious spaces with wellness amenities at home. In addition to at-home spas, home gyms, yoga rooms, and meditation spaces continue to be popular. Ah, bliss.

Soft Curves and Organic Shapes

One trend that is especially striking is the rise of curved edges. “We’re moving away from sharp lines and rigid forms toward furniture and decor with soft, organic shapes,” Wiott says. Distancing ourselves from straight, uniform lines pairs perfectly with peaceful, cozy environments that encourage us to sit back and unwind.

“Curved sofas, arched doorways, and sculptural lighting create an approachable, relaxing atmosphere,” Wiott continues. “These shapes inspire comfort and ease—something we value deeply when designing spaces.”

Comfort and Durability

Gone are the days where rooms at home feel fancy, stuffy, and reserved for special occasions. 2025 design trends are all about marrying comfort and style. “More than ever, clients are requiring their homes to be not only visually appealing, but for the pieces to be comfortable and durable,” Hirsch says. “It’s not an either or. With the vast range of performance fabrics and durable metals, stones, and wood finishes, your furniture should check all the boxes.”

There are plenty of options for comfy, high-quality textiles that are built for wear and tear. Textured neutrals especially, will be everywhere, according to Hirsch. “May this trend never go away,” she says. “Combinations of luxe fabrics and finishes create a serene environment.”

Statement Stonework

All three designers I chatted with predict that stoneware will be incredibly popular in 2025, but with a twist. “Colorful natural stones will be front and center, appearing in furniture, countertops, and accessories to add vibrance,” Danielle Chiprut of Danielle Rose Design Co. shares.Expect to see kitchens and bathrooms incorporating stones like onyx, green marble, or colorful quartzite to create unexpected focal points that blend organic appeal with striking hues.”

Wiott agrees. “Stone is no longer confined to countertops—it’s becoming a bold design statement,” she says. “Whether used for floors, feature walls, or sculptural pieces, veined marbles, and textured stones bring elegance and movement into interiors.”

In search of more ideas for statement stonework? “We are really leaning in on using one-of-a-kind marble slabs not just in bathrooms or kitchens, but on furniture pieces and bars—unique color stones with bold lines,” Hirsch recommends.

Bold, Saturated Colors

Even as warm neutrals continue to be popular, 2024 brought a resurgence of color and maximalism that is here to stay. “Deep, saturated tones like forest green, midnight blue, and aubergine will dominate in 2025,” Wiott states. “We layer textures within these palettes to create intimate, reflective spaces—perfect for bedrooms, libraries, or studies.”

Allowing your personality to shine through your home is always on trend, but playing with color, jewel tones specifically, will be especially popular in 2025. These dramatic shades will show up on feature walls, upholstery, and even art pieces, infusing spaces with energy and personality,” Chiprut says. “It’s all about making a statement while adding warmth and sophistication.”

Artisan, Hand-Crafted Furniture

Maximalism lends itself to highly personalized spaces, but there are other ways to infuse your own unique touch. Namely, custom furniture designed specifically for your home.  “We’re seeing a huge push toward pieces that are hand-crafted and look as such,” Hirsch says. “Think gorgeous custom wood stains, organic shapes, and pieces specially made to fit a space.”

Customized furniture can make your house feel like a home, especially knowing you own a one-of-a-kind piece. Connect with local artisans to design a piece of furniture you love, or be on the lookout for makers who work with natural materials. Casa Zuma is a wonderful example, as they design and source beautiful handmade products.
