Aaron and Christine Boring say they bought their Pittsburgh home in 2006 for a “considerable sum of money”. According to the couple, the reason for the purchase was their desire for privacy. The couple claimed that Google used photos taken from their long driveway and put the images online. Google’s mapping website allows people to click for photos of the streets taken using cars mounted with digital cameras. The photos were taken from the couple’s private property so therefore their privacy had been violated, as they say. Google spokesman Larry Yu called the lawsuit “unfortunate” and said property owners could request images be removed from the website.
